Lively, physical Thursday in full pads for the Eagles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College held its fifth practice of the spring in full pads Thursday morning inside Fish Field House. The practice featured plenty of intensity, physicality and competitiveness as both sides of the ball had their respective moments Thursday.
Â
"There are some real, tough, hard-nosed leaders emerging," said Boston College head coach Steve Addazio. "Some of the older guys up front, like John Phillips, are trying to be great leaders. On the defensive side, you see guys like Max Richardson who are trying to be really good leaders. I think other guys are trying to be positive leaders on this team. There's strong personality guys here and it's really showing out on the field."
Â
Through five practices, both sides of the ball continue to improve.
Â
"On offense, we have a veteran quarterback (Anthony Brown) and a veteran running back (AJ Dillon)," Addazio said. "Up front we have talented players, veteran tight ends. On defense, they're doing a phenomenal job of building our package right now around our players. Our players are embracing it and playing really hard. I think for day five, we're firing at a fairly high level."
Â
The Eagles return to the practice field for the first extended scrimmage of the spring Saturday morning inside Fish Field House.
Â
"I just want to see both teams competing hard and executing at a high level," added Addazio. "It's a more prolonged scrimmage setting so it's not so much broken down to individual or semi-group but it's more 'play the game' type of deal with the officials here so we can see all of that in the arena."

NOTES: Fresh off his impressive showing at the NFL Combine, offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom was in attendance at practice Thursday. Lindstrom is widely regarded by various NFL media outlets as one of the top interior offensive line prospects in April's draft and has been projected as a first or second round pick … during team periods featuring the offense versus the defense, several players stood out on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Anthony Brown hit wide receiver/running back Travis Levy in stride for a 40-yard touchdown reception … QB EJ Perry connected with Jehlani Galloway on a tremendous, sliding reception for the redshirt freshman wide out … safety Nolan Borgersen had a would-be sack on a blitz … running back AJ Dillon had a leaping grab out of the backfield, spun out of a tackle, and ripped off 30 yards after the catch … RB David Bailey showed nice vision with several runs during Thursday's practice … redshirt freshman safety Tyler Days came up with a strong hit on tight end Chris Garrison for a short gain during team period work … defensive end Marcus Valdez had a sack if the quarterbacks were live … Dillon ripped off a 60-yard touchdown run … Brown found Bailey for a touchdown reception in the red zone as Bailey broke two tackles on the way into the end zone … redshirt sophomore cornerback Brandon Sebastian snagged a one-handed interception on the sideline off a tipped pass as he tip-toed the sideline to come up with the turnover … redshirt sophomore QB Matt McDonald ripped a 20-yard touchdown pass to redshirt sophomore wide receiver Noah Jordan-Williams in the red zone … redshirt senior tight end Jake Burt continued to flash soft hands with a diving, one-handed reception … redshirt sophomore tight end Hunter Long snagged a touchdown from McDonald during 7-on-7 work in the red zone as he made a diving catch in the corner of the end zone … Borgersen had a tipped ball INT in the red zone while Burt caught two touchdowns during red zone work from Perry and McDonald … redshirt sophomore safety Jahmin Muse had a pick-six in the 7-on-7 period for the defense.
