The men's swim team heads to Greensboro for the four-day championship meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Boston College men's swim team is set to have their own week of championship competition, beginning tomorrow in Greensboro, as they will take on fellow Atlantic Coast Conference schools for the conference title. The women's team had an impressive showing last week as they recorded 11 program-best finishes over the four-day meet.
The men's team hasn't seen competition since Feb. 8-9 over the Boston Winter Open. During the weekend, the freshman Sam Roche took half of a second off of senior Taylor Cortens' previous 100-yard backstroke record, finishing with a time of 48.49. Cortens earned two first-place finishes: in the 100-yard breaststroke (55:31) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:02.15). Arthur Hidalgo (16:24.93) and Matthew Amedeo (16:31.84) placed first and second in the 1650-yard freestyle.
The ACC Championship meet will take place in Greensboro from Feb. 27-March 2.
