Ryan Takes 15th, Leads Eagles to Eighth in EISA Giant Slalom

NEWRY, Maine – Bobby Ryan finished 15th overall as the men's alpine team placed eighth in the giant slalom on Friday as the EISA Championships opened up at Sunday River.
Ryan skied a combined time of 2:38.23 for the Eagles, just two and a half seconds behind race winner James Ferri of Dartmouth. Trent Gutstein (2:43.06) and Aaron Taylor (2:43.35) placed 39th and 41st for the men's squad
Parker Biele led the women's team on Day 1, placing just inside the top-25 with a combined time of 2:46.02, which was 10 seconds off the pace. Dannica Ashnault, Natalie Wetmore, and Kelsie Grant failed to qualify for the second run to provide additional points for the women.
The EISA slalom is set for Saturday morning at Sunday River, beginning with the men's first run at 9:15 a.m.
