Fencing Ready for Competition at ACC Championships

Boston College Set to Host the ACC Fencing Championships this Weekend
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College fencing team will host the ACC Championships this Saturday (Feb. 23) and Sunday (Feb. 24) at Conte Forum.

The women's side came away with two wins and a loss at the Beanpot on Feb. 13. The team is led by Madison Lee (foil), Gabrielle Chau (Sabre), and Laura Boden (epee). At the Beanpot, Lee went 5-4, Chau went 5-2, and Boden went 6-3.

The men's side also fought to a 2-1 record at the Beanpot. The team is anchored by Cameron Mayer (Foil), Ben Slavin (Sabre) and Thomas Junseo Park (Epee). At the Beanpot, Mayer went 5-4, and Slavin went 6-3. Park was recently named the Northeast Fencing Conference fencer of the year, going 20-1 in NFC competition.

Notre Dame, Duke, and North Carolina will be the competition this weekend. The team has been impressing head coach Brendan Doris-Pierce with its determination and grit this season. "I am excited by the commitment this team has to each other and how they rise to the occasion," said Doris-Pierce.
Events start Saturday morning at 8 a.m., and will conclude Sunday afternoon.
