Megan Keller Earns Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week

Keller picked up four points in setting another Hockey East record and reaching 150 career points.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – The Hockey East Association announced Monday that Boston College women's hockey senior Megan Keller has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Eagles to a win over conference foe New Hampshire on Friday.
Keller had four points in the 7-1 win, scoring two goals and registering two assists. The captain's first period goal stood up to be her fifth game-winning goal of the season and then she added her team-leading sixth power-play goal in the second. Keller, who finished a plus-3, picked up two assists in the third period. She also registered nine shots on goal and had three blocks in the win.
Her first period tally set the Hockey East single-season goals record by a defender and she now has a scoring line of 15-20-35 in conference play, good for second overall. The score was also her 150th career point, making her the sixth player in program history to hit that mark. Keller currently holds the conference records for a defender in career goals, assists and points and single-season goals, assists and points.
Keller now leads all defensemen nationally in scoring with 38 points on 16 goals and 22 assists. She leads all defenders or is tied for first in goals, assists, points, goals per game (0.55), assists per game (0.76) points per game (1.31), power-play goals (6) and game-winning goals (5). Among all skaters in the country, Keller ranks in the top 15 in points, goals, assists, power-play points, game-winning goals and points per game.
