STOWE, Vt. – The Boston College men's and women's alpine ski teams earned seventh place in the giant slalom on day one of the UVM Carnival on Friday at Stowe Mountain Resort. Aaron Taylor and Parker Biele each finished inside the top-20 for the Eagles.
For Taylor, it was a career day in the GS as the men's captain posted nearly identical times in his first and second run for a combined time of 2:08.34. The senior matched his best collegiate finish after placing 16th as a freshman at the EISA Championships in Middlebury.
Bobby Ryan also had a consistent day in the GS to register 23rd place with a time of 2:08.99. Trent Gutstein rounded out the Eagles' scoring positions as he took 29th place in 2:09.59 to give the BC men three skiers in the top-30.
For the second straight year in Stowe, Biele posted a career-best finish as she collected 17th place in the women's GS with a combined time of 2:14.25. The sophomore, who earned 18th at the UVM Carnival last year, was fifth overall after the first run before dropping back outside the top-15.
