
Five Eagles Named to U.S. Rivalry Series Roster

Current Eagles Kelly Browne and Cayla Barnes join three alums on the 23-player roster.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Two current Boston College women's hockey players along with three recent graduates were named to the U.S. Women's National Team roster for the upcoming Rivalry Series against Canada, USA Hockey announced on Friday.

Current Eagles Kelly Browne and Cayla Barnes join alums Megan Keller '19, Emily Matheson '15 and Alex Carpenter '16 on the 23-player roster. Browne will be making her senior national team debut. The quartet of Barnes, Keller, Matheson and Carpenter were most recently members of the U.S. squad that won a fifth-consecutive gold medal at the 2019 IIHF World Championships in April while also playing in a two-game exhibition series against Canada last month.Â

The Rivalry Series includes five games against Canada, with two coming this week on Dec. 14 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. and then Dec. 17 in Moncton, New Brunswick. In addition to the opening two games in December, the U.S. and Canada will also meet on Feb. 3 in Victoria, British Columbia, Feb. 5 in Vancouver, British Columbia and Feb. 8 in Anaheim, Calif.

Saturday's game at the XL Center will air on NBCSN while the remaining four will be on NHL Network.
