Eagles Selected to NIVC for First Time in Program History

The volleyball team will face Colgate on Dec. 6
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The Boston College volleyball team has been selected to compete in the 2019 National Invitational Volleyball Championship, as announced by the committee on Sunday. The selection marks the first time in program history that the Eagles have earned a bid to a postseason tournament as BC will head to Colgate in the first round of the tournament on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
The Eagles capped off their season with a program-best 20-11 record, highlighted by an 11-7 finish in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The 11 win mark more than doubled the teams' previous all-time conference best, which it set in 2018 with five wins during head coach Jason Kennedy's first year at the helm of the program. The Eagles matched their 20-win mark, last achieved in 2004, with a five-set win over NC State on Nov. 30.
