The volleyball team caps a four-match home slate welcoming the Hokies to Power Gym
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College volleyball team (17-9, 8-5 ACC) takes on conference foe Virginia Tech (9-16, 2-10 ACC) for a Friday evening match in Power Gym. The match will be available for broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The Eagles are coming off of a midweek heartbreaker against Syracuse, as the Orange topped BC in five sets in Chestnut Hill. Clare Naughton's career-best 20 kills led the Eagles' pace as they won the first and third sets of the evening, but BC couldn't hold off Polina Shemanova's 32 kills.
Virginia Tech holds onto a 2-9 conference record as we approach the end of the regular season, most recently falling to Florida State and Miami last weekend. Their conference wins came over then-No. 23 Louisville and Wake Forest, en route to earning their first win over a ranked opponent since 2015. The Eagles and Hokies met twice last season, splitting the record as Virginia Tech swept BC in Blacksburg before the Eagles bounced back in Chestnut Hill for a 3-2 win.
Following Friday's matchup, the Eagles jump back onto the road to face Wake Forest and Virginia next weekend.
