Eagles Host Saint Louis in Gotham Classic Showcase Game

Clear Bag Policy:
Similar to football season, a clear bag policy will be in effect for all men's basketball games at Conte Forum. Approved bags for entrance to Conte Forum include a clear plastic bag that does not exceed 12"x12"x6", a one-gallon sized clear plastic bag, or a small clutch wristlet or handheld wallet.

Concessions:
New kids fare will be available in Conte Forum and all items will be $1.50. The fare includes Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Goldfish snack crackers, and "kid popular" bottled drinks provided by Coca-Cola. Additionally, all concessions (with the exception of alcohol) will be discounted by 50% pre-game, prior to tip-off.

Merchandise:
All fans arriving early are eligible to purchase one item from the Conte Forum merchandise shop for 25% up until tip-off.

Preferred Mutual Family Section:

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SAINT LOUIS - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's marks the fourth meeting between the two teams.
Boston College is 1-2 in the all-time series.
The last meeting between BC and SLU came in MTE play.
SLU took a 61-52 win in the Anaheim 76 Classic on Nov. 24, 2011.
The Eagles and Billikens played home/home in 2007 and 2008.
The home team was victorious in both games in the series.
Today's contest is the Showcase game in the Gotham Classic, as well as the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight Game of the Week.

BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE ATLANTIC 10

BC is 105-75 versus teams that are currently members of the A-10.
In games against A-10 opponents, Boston College is 32-36 all-time.
Rhode Island is BC's most common A-10 foe, having met 50 times.
From 1995-2018, BC faced at least one A-10 opponent every year.
The Eagles are playing back-to-back A-10 opponents, heading to Richmond on Nov. 30.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN MTE / IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT PLAY

Today's contest is the Spotlight game of the Gotham Classic.
Dating back to 1951-52, Boston College has compiled a 96-86 record in multi-team events (MTE) and in-season tournaments.
In the Gotham Classic, BC is 2-1 - beating High Point (59-33) and Eastern Washington (72-68), and losing to Belmont, 100-85.
Last year, Boston College won the inaugural Fort Myers Tipoff.
The Eagles were 3-1 in Fort Myers Tipoff play, downing Loyola Chicago, 78-66, for the tournament title on Nov. 21, 2018.

JAY DOT BUCKETS

Jay Heath ranks fifth nationally among freshman in 3-point FG%, making 52.2% of his attempts from beyond the arc (12-23).
Over his last three games, Heath has made 9-of-13 from the perimeter, including 5-of-7 vs. Eastern Washington.
The last BC freshman to make five 3-pointers in a game: Ky Bowman (5) vs. Notre Dame on Feb. 14, 2017.
Heath has scored in double figures in five of his first six games - and ranks third on the squad in scoring (12.7 ppg)
The D.C. native scored 18 points in the season-opening win over Wake Forest.
He ranks fourth among all ACC freshmen in scoring (12.7 ppg), second in 3FGM (12), and is first in steals (10).

This season...

Steffon Mitchell leads BC in rebounding (9.3), blocks (1.7), and steals (2.3) per game, while ranking second in assists (4.0).
He is the only player nationally to log 9.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.7 blocked shots per game.
Mitchell has led the team in blocks in all four games, rebounding three times, and assists and steals twice.
Against High Point, Mitchell logged his seventh career double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
It was his highest scoring total and first double-double since Dec. 4, 2018 vs. Providence (10p/11r).
In the ACC, he ranks second in steals, third in rebounding, seventh blocks, 13th in assists, and third in assist/turnover.
In 171 minutes played through six games, Mitchell has committed only nine turnovers.

Mitchell has led BC in at least one statistical category (scoring, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) in 61 of his 67 career games.
The 6-7 forward is the ACC's active rebounding leader, averaging 8.2 rebounds per game for his 67-game career.
Last year, he ranked fifth overall in the league (7.9 rpg). As a freshman, he ranked seventh in the conference (8.3 rpg).
The Shakopee, Minn. native became the first true freshman in Boston College history to average better than 8.0 rpg.

Graduate transfer Derryck Thornton has returned to the ACC to play his final season of eligibility.
Thornton began his career at Duke in 2015-16, averaging 7.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 36 games (20 starts).
The Los Angeles native transferred to USC, where he played two seasons for the Trojans from 2017-19.
Thornton averaged 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 57 games at USC, posting a 1.73:1 assist/turnover ratio.
Last season, the 6-3, 195 lb. point guard averaged 7.7 points, 2.8 boards, 4.3 assists, and a 2.2:1 assist/turnover ratio.
His assist/turnover mark ranked third in the Pac 12, while his assists average ranked sixth-best in the conference in 2018-19.

N1K POPOVIC: BECOMES 45TH EAGLE TO SCORE 1,000 POINTS

With a second half FT vs. Eastern Washington, Nik Popovic became the 45th member of Boston College's 1,000 point club.
He is the fourth BC player in the last three years to score 1,000 points (Jerome Robinson, Ky Bowman, Jordan Chatman).
Popovic reached the statistical milestone in his 98th career game.
Standing at 6-11, Nik Popovic joins Jay Murphy '84 as the tallest members of Boston College's 1,000 point club.

NOT THROWING AWAY HIS SHOT

Over his last four games, Jared Hamilton has connected on 14-of-25 shots from the floor - a 56% shooting percentage.
Against Eastern Washington - Hamilton made 5-of-9 shots (1-3 3FG), tying his season-high with 12 points.
He also scored a dozen against High Point, making 5-of-6 attempts - including 2-of-2 from 3-point land.
He ranks fourth on the team in scoring, at 7.7 points per game, this season.

SWISH-RAIN

Julian Rishwain found his range last time out vs DePaul, knocking down 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
The 6-5 freshman guard tallied a season-best 15 points vs. the Blue Demons, adding 3-of-4 from the foul line.
Rishwain is averaging 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in 16 minutes per game.

THAT'S GOOD, CALVIN, VERY GOOD...

CJ Felder has proven to be a solid scorer off the bench for Boston College through the first six games.
The 6-7 freshman forward is averaging 6.7 points in a little over 19 minutes of action per game.
He is shooting close to 55% from the floor from inside the arc (13-24) and is 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
He scored a season-best 10 points at USF and had nine points in the win over Eastern Washington.
