Washington Ends Eagles NCAA Run

BC falls, 2-0, in NCAA second round at Washington.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's soccer team fell to No. 4 Washington, 2-0, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Husky Soccer Stadium on Sunday night.
The Eagles finish the season at 9-6-3. The Huskies improve to 13-2-2 and will host Marshall next weekend in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
Washington scored two goals in the first half to secure the victory. Blake Bodily gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. Six minutes later, Jaret Townsend pushed the lead to 2-0.
In the first half, the Huskies earned 11 corner kicks and held a 10-2 edge in shots. The Eagles tallied two shots, the most dangerous came from just outside the box off the foot of freshman Michael Suski in the 43rd minute.
The second half the story was Eagles sophomore Christian Garner. The Orleans native kept the BC in the game with six saves, five in the second half.
BC's best chance in the second half came on a set piece from sophomore Kristofer Konradsson. The shot was from 30 yards out and the Washington keeper Sam Fowler kept the Eagles off the scoreboard. He finished with three saves.
