Eagles Welcome Three for Class of 2020

Women's Basketball adds three players to the roster for 2020-21
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball program signed three high school seniors to National Letters of Intent, head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee announced Wednesday.
The three members of the class of 2020 are Kaylah Ivey from Forestville, Maryland, Josiah "Jo Jo" Lacey from Douglassville, Pa. and Sydney McQuietor from Keller, Texas. This class follows BC's 2019 recruiting class that was ranked 31st nationally by All Star Girls Report. The 2020 Class is 21st in the country and sixth in the ACC according to the Blue Star Report.
"I am excited about the addition of these three players, they fit in great with our culture and style of play. On the court they each bring something different to add depth, quickness, size and versatility to the team. I love that they are talented and have outstanding character which will allow them to excel on the court and be great additions to the Boston College community,'' said coach Bernabei-McNamee.
KAYLAH IVEY | 5-FOOT-8 | GUARD | BOO WILLIAMS 17U
Ivey plays both point and shooting guard for head coach Mike Bozeman at Riverdale Baptist in Maryland. As a junior she averaged 13.8 points a game, 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
A native of Forestville, Maryland, Ivey is a physical athletic guard with a good handle, who plays AAU for Boo Williams 17U EYBL team.
Ivey was a National Association Christian Athletes All-American honoree last season as well as a second team member as a sophomore. She was also a Washington Post Second Team All-Met honoree and PG Sentinel First Team selection last season.
In the Blue Star Basketball Report, Ivey is ranked 14th in her position and 75th nationally.
"Kayla is a true scoring point guard that loves to push tempo. She has a great shot and her court vision is outstanding. Playing for the Boo Williams AAU organization has allowed her to compete and excel at the highest level. She takes pride in making her teammates better and I am eager to watch her grow into our floor general, '' said Bernabei-McNamee.

JOSIAH "JO JO" LACEY | 6-FOOT-1 | GUARD | PHILADELPHIA BELLES 17U
Lacey, a native of Douglassville, Pa., has the ability to create and hit the mid-range jumper. She is ranked 39th in the country and sixth in her position according to The Blue Star Basketball Report. Lacey is also ranked 55th overall and sixth in her position according to ESPN.
A team captain at Westtown High School, Lacey averaged 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals a game last season. Her sophomore season she averaged 12.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals a game. Lacey is a three-time Friends League First Team honoree.
A member of the AAU program, the Philadelphia Belles 17U EYBL team, Lacey played for the team that won the 2019 Indianapolis section of EYBL Championship.
"Jo Jo excels in a fast-paced system and is a versatile scorer. At 6'1 she has the size and athleticism to score at all three levels,'' said Bernabei-McNamee. "Playing for the Philly Belles AAU organization has allowed her to compete and excel at the highest level. She is a competitor that is used to winning. I am eager to see her grow as a player and expect her to be a major contributor to our program."
SYDNEY MCQUIETOR | 6-FOOT-2 | FORWARD | AD ELITE 17 U
McQuietor a 6-foot-2 forward, plays at Keller High School where she has compiled 533 points, 497 rebounds and 98 blocks last season. The team won the 2018 Bi-District Championship (6A) last season and she was named to the All-District 6A First Team, as well as an All-Academic honoree.
Prior to Keller, she played two seasons at Westlake Academy and was a member of the 2016 and 2017 TCAF State Championship team. McQuietor was a TCAFÂ All-State honoree while at Westlake.
A native of Keller, Texas, McQuietor is ranked 167th overall and 17th in her position according to The Blue Star Basketball Report.
"Syd has solid size and strength. Her soft shooting touch combined with her ability to bang inside and willingness to run the floor will add depth to our interior game,'' said Bernabei-McNamee. "Playing for the AD Elite AAU organization has allowed her to compete and excel at the highest level. I am very excited to watch her develop her game at the ACC level."
Boston College is currently 2-1 and will travel to play at Providence on Sunday at 1 p.m.
