Reineke Wins Singlehanded National Championship

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Junior Sophia Reineke brought home the Singlehanded National Championship on Sunday, Nov. 10 after defeating a field of 18 sailors in Santa Barbara, California.

Reineke scored 59 points on the day, besting Stanford's Christina Sakellaris (68 points) by nine for the title.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native got off to a strong start, finishing no lower than fourth in the first eight races. Reineke won the first, fifth and 13th races on the day on her way to the championship.

Last May, Reineke was named an ICSA All-America Skipper.
