Hannah Bilka Named Hockey East Rookie of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Boston College women's hockey freshman forward Hannah Bilka was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month, the league office announced on Friday.

Bilka finished the first month of the season with a league-leading 10 goals and four assists for 14 points. Her 14 points sat second in the league and tied for ninth in the nation. Bilka had three game-winning goals over the first eight games, tied for tops in the country, and was a plus-11, second overall among Hockey East forwards. She averaged a league-best 1.25 goals per game.

The Coppell, Texas native led all rookies or tied for first nationally in points (14), goals (10), power-play goals (4), power-play points (5), game-winning goals (3), short-handed goals (1), hat tricks (1), and shots on goal (37). She had at least one point in seven out of the eight contests in the first month of the season and factored in on four game-winning goals and one game-tying goal. Bilka had five multi-point games and three multi-goal games.
Bilka was named the league's Player of the Week on Oct. 7 and the Rookie of the Week this past Monday.

The No. 7/7 Eagles host New Hampshire on Friday at 2 p.m. before a 4 p.m. home tilt against Providence on Saturday.
