Eagles open up Nov. 5 at Conte Forum vs. UMass Lowell
The Boston College women's basketball team is three weeks into preseason. Since the first day of practice the energy level has been high and the competition has been fierce.
The coaching staff has the Eagles running through the offense and defense drills, as well as individual skills.
Last Thursday, Head Coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee and sophomores Makayla Dickens and Taylor Soule spent the day in Charlotte, North Carolina at ACC Tip-Off. All three went through photos, social media sessions and some one-on-one interviews with ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo.
On Sunday the team drove to Mohegan Sun Arena to watch the WNBA Playoff game between Washington Mystics and the Connecticut Sun.
The Eagles return three seniors – Emma Guy, Taylor Ortlepp and Georgia Pineau along with two juniors – Sydney Lowery and Milan Bolden-Morris.
Also returning is ACC All-Freshman team honoree Makayla Dickens along with Taylor Soule, Marnelle Garraud, Clara Ford and transfer Cameron Swartz. Forward Jaelyn Batts is the lone freshman that will play this season, as freshman center Akunna Konkwo is out of her boot and rehabbing for the 2020-21 season.
Boston College will have two closed scrimmages before the season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against the UMass Lowell. Fans can purchase tickets at www.bceagles.com/tickets. The game will also air on the ACC Network.
