The BC freshman had six points in a two-win week for the Eagles.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Boston College women's hockey freshman Hannah Bilka has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week after racking up six points on five goals and one assist in a two-win week for the No. 7/7 Eagles.
Â
On Thursday at Holy Cross, Bilka scored four goals in BC's 6-0 win over the Crusaders. She scored the game's first goal – and her first career goal and game-winning goal – with five minutes to play in the opening frame. Bilka then added her second of the game two minutes into the second period and went on to complete the hat trick with a short-handed tally two minutes later. The Coppell, Texas native wrapped up her four-goal night with a power-play tally midway through the period.
Â
It was the first four-goal game for a BC player since Toni Ann Miano did it at Northeastern on Jan. 13, 2018.
Â
In a 4-3 win at Syracuse on Saturday, Bilka potted her second power-play goal of the weekend and earned the primary assist on Cayla Barnes' game-winning goal and had a key block in the final seconds of the game. Bilka finished the weekend a plus-5 with eight shots on goal.
Â
This is the first Hockey East weekly honor of Bilka's career.
