Dwyer’s Seven-Save Shutout Leads Eagles to 4-0 Victory over Quinnipiac

NEWTON, Mass. – After posting her first shutout of the season to upset No. 8 Virginia, Sarah Dwyer completed a seven-save shutout to help Boston College field hockey defeat Quinnipiac, 4-0, on Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Newton Field Hockey Complex.
Margo Carlin and Fusine Govaert each tallied three points on the day (one goal and one assist), while six players tallied points for the Eagles.
Govaert opened the scoring for BC, scoring on a penalty corner from Carlin 2:32 into the first period.
The game would be scoreless for the next 35 minutes before Nell Webber scored on a tipped shot by Govaert 7:02 into the third. Then, 30 seconds later, Charlotte Von Huelsen tipped in a Sky Caron shot to extend BC's lead to three.
BC scored its final goal off the stick of Margo Carlin, who took a pass from Emily Buttinger in the circle and hit the ball into the top left corner of the goal 1:50 into the fourth.
BC outshout Quinnipiac 18-11 and had 12 shots on goal to their seven.
