NEWTON, Mass. – Behind stellar goalkeeping by Sarah Dwyer, the Boston College field hockey team defeated cross-town rival Harvard, 1-0, at the Newton Field Hockey Complex on Thursday night.

In a defensive showdown, Dwyer made three saves and giving up no goals in 60 minutes in net to held the Eagles win. Brigid Wood scored the lone goal of the game, while Fusine Govaert tallied an assist on the goal.

It was a game that was primarily played in the middle of the field, as BC only totaled seven shots and Harvard six.

Just 1:19 into the first period saw BC earn a penalty corner. Margo Carlin then inserted the ball to Charlotte Von Huelsen, who laid it off to Sky Caron. Caron then passed across to Govaert, who fired a low, driven shot toward the goal, where Wood redirected the ball into the back of the net.

The game would then go scoreless for the next 58:41 before the final horn sounded.

BC Highlights
- Sarah Dwyer has now completed three-straight shutouts, beginning with her start at Virginia on Oct. 4. Of those three shutouts, she has blanked two ranked opponents (Virginia and Harvard). Dwyer has gone over 193 minutes without letting in a goal.
- Brigid Wood now has three goals on the year, more than her first three years at BC, combined.
- Fusine Govaert has six goals and six assists on the year. Her six goals ties the career-high she set her freshman season.
