Boston College Falls to No. 22 Clemson

Olivia Vaughn moved into 15th place all-time on the program's career scoring list.
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell to the No. 22 Clemson Tigers on Thursday night, 2-1, at the Newton Campus Fields.
After a scoreless first half, Olivia Vaughn put the Eagles up by one seven minutes into the second stanza with her seventh goal of the season.
The Tigers, though, equalized in the 59th minute and then Hal Hershfelt put home the eventual game-winning goal in the 72nd. The Eagles kept pushing for an equalizer, but Sam Smith's shot with 15 seconds remaining was just wide of the right post.
Allie Augur finished with four saves and the Eagles earned one team save while Sandy MacIver made one save for the Tigers.

- 52' | Sam Smith corralled the ball on the edge of the left side of the 18 and turned to thread a pass through three defenders to Kayla Jennings at the top of the box. Jennings immediately turned and found Vaughn on the left side of the 18 for one-touch shot to the far post.
- 59' | After Clemson sent a loose ball off a corner back towards goal, Mia Karras had a goal line stop but the rebound popped to Mackenzie Smith at the six, and the Clemson player hit a high shot just under the crossbar.
- 72' | Kimber Haley pass to Hershfelt outside the box and Hershfelt dribbled in towards the penalty spot before sneaking a shot inside the right post.

- Boston College has a record of 8-6-2 in the all-time series with Clemson, including a mark of 4-2-0 in Newton.
