Eagles Win Norman Reid Trophy, Compete at Coed Showcase Finals, for Oberg Trophy

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College sailing team competed at three regattas over the weekend, winning the Norman Reid Trophy, while also competing for the Oberg Trophy and at the Coed Showcase Finals.
With skippers Colin Brego, Robert Hunter and Thomas Walden, along with crews of Isabella Eckler, Elizabeth Russell and Nicole Moeder, the Eagles would win the Norman Reid Trophy with a 9/1 record. BC was a flawless 5-0 in the first round, defeating Brown, BU, MIT, Tufts and Yale. Then went 4-1 in the second round, beating everyone but Tufts by a score of 3-5-6.
BC then finished in 10th at the Coed Showcase Championship Finals, scoring 96 points in Division A and 80 in Division B. The Eagles placed 12th in the A division with sailors Sophia Reineke and Declan McGranahan, while Jack DeNatale and Eliza Wright finished in eighth in the B division.
Lastly, for the Oberg Trophy, BC finished in 15th with a score of 308. The pair of Jack Plavan and Katharine Bowman scored 75 points for an 11th-place finish in the A divison, while Graham Ness and Alex Ginny finished in 18th in the B division with 115 points. In Division C, Francis Selldorff and Lilly Mathieu placed 16th with 118 points to round out the team's scoring.

BC is back next weekend for a trio of regattas on Saturday, Oct. 26.
