The senior had a five-point game against Merrimack en route to her co-player of the week honor.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – After her five-point game against Merrimack in Friday's home opener, Boston College women's hockey senior Lindsay Agnew has been named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week.
Agnew scored three goals for her first career hat trick and also added two assists in the 8-0 league win over the Warriors. She opened the scoring with the eventual game-winning goal midway through the first period and then added her second of the game with six minutes to play in the second to make it 4-0. The Oakville, Ontario native was then involved in the final three goals of the game, assisting on two before causing a turnover on the penalty kill and skating the length of the ice to convert the breakaway.
The captain's short-handed tally marked the fifth of her career, moving her into a tie with Emily Field for seventh all-time in program history. It was the first five-point game for an Eagle since Makenna Newkirk and Daryl Watts both did it in a wain at New Hampshire on Jan. 55, 2018.
Agnew finished with one power-play goal, one short-handed goal and one game-winning goal while adding eight shots on goal and 15 face-off wins across the wins over Merrimack and Vermont on the weekend.
This is the first career weekly honor for Agnew. Northeastern's Alina Mueller was named the co-player of the week along with Agnew.
