First Year Libero Torey Baum Joins the Eagles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Head Coach Jason Kennedy and the Boston Eagles Volleyball team are excited to announce the addition of Torey Baum, a 5'8" libero, who will be joining the team and enrolling in classes starting in January.
"Torey is the type of kid that you want to build a program around," said Kennedy. "She brings energy, consistency, and an enthusiasm for the game that will help her excel at the next level. It's nice to have someone with championship experience in the gym, and we're looking forward to having her work out with the team this spring to fine tune her skills and get her ready to contribute in the fall."
Torey comes from West Orange School in Winter Garden, FL where she captained the team to a 2017 State Title. She has played on the top club team at Orlando Tampa Volleyball Academy (OTVA) for the past 6 years. She was a key contributor in the club's National Championships in 2013 and 2014, and its National Runner-Up finish in 2016.
"As a coaching staff we believe Torey is one of the best players in the country at her position. She is a leader and an elite competitor. Her position usually doesn't draw much accolades or recognition but people who truly understand the game will recognize the value of having someone like that out on the floor."
The Eagles begin spring practices this week.
