Eagles Place Third at Nassaney Invitational

Sean Burke wins men’s competition
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Led by an overall first-place finish from senior Sean Burke, the Boston College men's cross country team placed third with 84 points at the Nassaney Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Northeastern took the team title with 36 points, followed by second-place Central Connecticut with 72 points. The Eagles placed third among the 11 competing schools.
Burke crossed the line first for the Eagles at 24:48.0, finishing the 8K course nearly 12 seconds before the second-place finisher from Northeastern. Sophomore Kyle Faddis came in second for BC, finishing 18th overall with his 25:59.3 time.
Senior Sawyer Maher (26:01.4) and junior Ian Ritchie (26:01.5) finished in 20th- and 21st-place overall, respectively. Senior Benjamin Osipow finished fifth for BC with a time of 26:05.0, good for 24th overall.

-Ian Ritchie placed 21st with his time of 26:01.5 while senior Benjamin Osipow finished fifth for the Eagles, 24th overall, with his time of 26:05.0.
-Sophomore Ben Ruffing was the sixth Eagle over the line, placing 25th overall at 26:05.9. Junior Zach Beston's time of 26:13.2 was good for 29th overall as the seventh Eagle to finish.
-Freshman Alexander Horgan finished 40th at 26:42.5 while fellow rookie Gordon Pollock came in 57th overall at 27:20.1.
