
Bryant, Bike Earn ACC Honors

Jenna Bike named co-offensive player honors while Alexis Bryant was named defensive player of the week.
NEWTON, Mass. –
Graduate senior Alexis Bryant and junior Jenna Bike were garnered with ACC honors as announced by the conference this morning.

Bryant, the Eagles goalkeeper, was named the ACC's Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week in two victories. Bryant had nine saves, including a season-high six saves in the upset victory over No. 7 Florida State on Sunday. Bryant had a diving save in the 53rd minute of the game to keep the Seminoles off the board.

After BC scored the go-ahead goal, Bryant came up with the save of the game to seal the victory in the final seconds to the match.

A native of Kensington, Maryland, Bryant has 10 victories which gives her 35 career wins. She also has six shutouts this season, to push her career total to 19.

Bike proved to play a pivotal role in the Eagles' 2-1 win over No. 7 Florida State on Sunday as she scored the game winner in the 74th minute. Bike also had a hand in the Eagles' first goal as she was pulled down in the box and received a penalty on which teammate Gaby Carreiro converted.

The Trumbull, Connecticut, native totaled seven shots in BC's two wins as the Eagles moved to 10-0-0 on the season.

Boston College is now 10-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the ACC. The Eagles will next play at Wake Forest on Thursday night in Winston-Salem (7 p.m.).
