Boston College Finalizes Roster, Introduces Freshman Class

Eagles announce 26 players on 2018-19 roster and five newcomers in Class of 2022
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The five-time national champion BC men's hockey program has finalized its 2018-19 roster, which welcomes five new skaters in the Class of 2022. The Eagles' roster features 26 players, including 21 returners who accounted for 95-percent of the team's 2017-18 scoring, all but four goals, and every minute played in net.

Patrick Giles
F | 6-4 | 204 | Chevy Chase, Md. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Played for the U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams in the United States Hockey League
• Posted 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 62 games in 2017-18
• Collected a pair of points in seven games for Team USA at the Under-18 World Championships and won silver
• Had 19 points in 56 games at the U17 level in 2016-17
• Won MAPHL state championships during his freshman and sophomore seasons at Landon School in Maryland
• Skated with the Skipjacks Hockey Club (USPHL) at the U16 and U18 levels in 2015-16
Jack McBain
F | 6-4 | 205 | Toronto, Ontario | Jr. Canadiens (OJHL)
• Played for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season, recording 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points in 48 games
• Received the 2018 OJHL Top Prospect Award and was a two-time OJHL First Team All-Prospect
• In 2016-17, he finished with 41 points in 42 contests with the Jr. Canadiens
• Had three points in five games for Team Canada at the 2018 Under-18 World Championships
• Won a gold medal with Canada at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, posting five points in five games
• Father Andrew played in the NHL from 1983-94
Marc McLaughlin

• Captained the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) in 2017-18, collecting 10 goals and 10 assists in 21 games
• Was the 2018 Curt Hammer Award winner, which recognizes the USHL player who distinguishes himself both on and off the ice by demonstrating outstanding performance skills, pride, and determination
• Skated in 60 games in 2016-17 and posted 16 points
• Was nearly a point-per-game player in two years at Cushing with 65 points in 66 contests, including 37 goals
• Served as team captain as a junior while scoring 24 goals
• Played two U16 MHSL seasons with the Neponset Valley River Rats and the Cape Cod Whalers
Adam Samuelsson
D | 6-6 | 226 | San Diego, Calif. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Posted 24 points and 94 penalty minutes in 62 games with the United States Under-18 National Team in 2017-18
• Skated in seven games at the U18 World Championships and won silver with Team USA
• Featured in 16 games at the U17 level with Team USA in 2016-17
• Played with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers and the North Jersey Avalanche at the U16 level in 2015-16, collecting 19 points in 35 games
• Brother Philip was a defenseman at Boston College from 2009-11
• Father Ulf is a former NHL defenseman and is currently an assistant coach with the Chicago Blackhawks
Oliver Wahlstrom
F | 6-2 | 209 | Quincy, Mass. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Selected by the New York Islanders in the first round (11th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, becoming the program's 15th first round pick under Jerry York
• Spent the 2017-18 season with the U.S. Under-18 National Team, finishing with 48 goals and 46 assists for 94 points in 62 games
• Claimed the best plus-minus in the USHL (+30)
• Had seven goals and two assists in seven contests at the 2018 Under-18 World Championships as Team USA won silver
• Helped the U.S. win the 2018 Under-18 Five Nations Tournament
• Won the gold medal at the 2017 Under-18 World Championships after scoring four goals in seven games
