Eagles open regular season at Wisconsin on Oct. 12-13
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The reigning Hockey East regular season champion Boston College men's hockey team announced its 2018-19 schedule on Wednesday. The Eagles will play at least 15 contests at Conte Forum, hosting archrival Boston University on Dec. 1, and will visit Big Ten opponents Wisconsin and Notre Dame during the upcoming campaign.
BC begins the season against New Brunswick at Kelley Rink on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. The Eagles then fly to Madison to face the Wisconsin Badgers for a two-game series on Oct. 12-13. After a Friday night trip to Quinnipiac on Oct. 19, the Boston College regular season home opener features St. Cloud State on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
The Eagles begin a home-and-home with Merrimack on Nov. 2, and the backend Saturday contest begins a five-game homestand against Vermont (Nov. 8-9), New Hampshire (Nov. 16), and Bentley (Nov. 23) for the program's first-ever matchup against the Falcons at 3 p.m. on Black Friday.
The 278th installment of the Battle of Comm Ave is set for Friday, Nov. 30 at Agganis Arena between BC and BU at 7:30 p.m. The rivals face off again the following night at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Conte Forum to close the regular season series. A Hockey East home-and-home with UConn on Dec. 6-7 closes the first half of the season.
Boston College opens the second half with a familiar foe, traveling to South Bend to play former league rival Notre Dame on New Year's Eve at 5 p.m. The Eagles then fly out west to face Arizona State in a two-game series on Jan. 4-5. Four of BC's six Hockey East games in January take place at Kelley Rink against Providence (twice), New Hampshire, and UMass Lowell.
After a Friday night contest at UConn on Feb. 1, the Eagles head to TD Garden to face Harvard in the opening game of the 67th annual Beanpot at 5 p.m (Feb. 4). BC travels to UMass Lowell the following Friday night before battling BU or Northeastern on the second Beanpot Monday (Feb. 11).
Jerry York's squad closes the regular season with two-game sets against UMass, Maine, and Northeastern before a final contest at Providence on March 7. Senior Night at Conte Forum is scheduled for Friday, March 1 against Northeastern.
Hockey East has adjusted its playoff format to feature only eight teams who will advance to the best-of-three league quarterfinals on March 15-17. The 2019 Hockey East Championship will be contested at TD Garden on March 22-23.
York has guided the Eagles to at least a share of three straight Hockey East Regular Season Championships. Last year's team won the title outright with a 18-6-0 conference record.
