Eagles Secure Runner-Up Title at NEISA Championships

Boston College saw two second-place performances in the NEISA Singlehanded Championships as junior Scott Rasmussen and sophomore Sophia Reineke took the spots for both the men's and women's races. Rasmussen totaled 47 points, coming in right behind Harvard's Henry Marshall who totaled 37. Reineke earned 44 points, ending just two points behind Yale's Louisa Nordstom's 42.

Rasmussen claimed the first-place title in 2017 as the first male sailor from Boston College to win the championship. This year, his second-place finish came from an 11th, ninth, second, and seventh-place finish, before placing first, two seconds, another first, two fifth-places, and ending race 11 with a second-place finish.

Reineke placed sixth, two firsts, eighth, second, third, third, fourth, and second, then ended with two seventh place finishes in race 10 and 11. She is the defending champion of the ACC B Division and LaserPerformance Women's Singlehanded Nationals.

Two Eagles also placed sixth in the championship: freshman Loghlen Rickard for the men and senior Isabella Loosbrock for the women. They ended their races with 76 and 62 points, respectively.Â
