Eagles-Crimson set to kick off at 7 on Wed. night

Three games in seven days is the BC women's soccer teams schedule this week. The Eagles are coming off a 4-1 victory over Temple on Sunday, but have a day to prepare for Wednesday's tilt with in-state rival Harvard on Wednesday at the Newton Soccer Field (7 p.m.).
Boston College will then open up ACC action in North Carolina at Wake Forest on Saturday, Sept. 15 (7 p.m.).
No rest for the 8-0 Eagles.
Harvard is currently 2-4 and looking to knock off the undefeated Eagles. The Crimson is coming off a 3-1 loss to Providence on the road. Harvard held a 1-0 lead going into the second half but then gave up three goals by the Friars.
Harvard's two victories are against Syracuse (4-0) and Quinnipiac (1-0), both teams the Eagles have on their 2018 schedule. BC already defeated Quinnipiac in the season opener (4-2) and will host the Orange on Sept. 20 (7 p.m.).

- Since 1997, BC has a 9-6-3 overall lead in the series.
- The first game between BC and Harvard took place in 1981 with the Crimson earning a 4-1 victory.
- The two teams know each other well as the all three coaches at Harvard (Chris Hamblin '01, Mike Calise '97 & Mark McDermott) were once assistants on Alison Foley's staff at BC.

- The eight-game win streak is the fourth longest in program history. The record is 10 games in 1983, and nine straight in 2009 and 2010.
- BC is outscoring opponents, 21-3, in the eight games.
- The Eagles average 16.2 shots per game, while the defense has held teams to just 7.6 shots a game.
-Sophomore Sam Coffey earned an honorable mention spot on this week's Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. In two BC victories, Coffey had a goal and an assist and leads the team in scoring with five goals, seven assists for 17 points.
- Last week, three Eagles – Mijke Roelfsema, Carly Leipzig and Kayla Jennings – tallied their first goal of the season. Roelfsema and Jennings were game-winners.
