Eagles to Battle UMass in Preseason Exhibition on Wednesday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team will take on the University of Massachusetts in a 3 p.m. exhibition match tomorrow at the Newton Campus Fields. The game was originally slated to be played on Sunday, Aug. 12 before being rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 15 due to inclement weather.
The Eagles and Minutemen both enter the scrimmage with a week of practice under their belts. It will be a good first test for BC, as UMass laid claim to both the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament titles in 2017 en route to a NCAA Tournament bid. Sophomore striker Davis Smith was named to the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List last week.
Boston College boasts a 30-man roster heading into the 2018 season, including 13 new face. Four of the top five scorers from a season ago are pulling the Maroon and Gold on once again, including leading-scorer Simon Enstrom. The captain notched 22 points on nine goals and four assists in 2017 and enters the season tied for ninth overall in BC history with 56 points.
