Q & A with GK Alexis Bryant

The Eagles will host Quinnipiac on Friday at 7.
Graduate senior Alexis Bryant has played in 52 career games at Boston College. She has tallied 13 shutouts and has a goals-against average of 1.41. Last year she won a personal high 10 games and had six shutouts. She also played a career-high 1,835 minutes as the team went 10-9-1. Bryant, a native of Maryland, is ready for her final season at BC as the Eagles will host Quinnipiac on Friday at the Newton Soccer Field at 7. Admission is free for all BC regular season home games.

Club Team: Bethesda Freedom 95/96
Family: Parents – Melissa and Dwayne; sisters - Madison and Taylor
Intended Major: Master's degree in leadership and administration with a concentration in corporate communications and marketing
Q - What did you do over the summer to prepare for the season?
A - Stayed at BC and worked with our strength and conditioning coach, Ryan Sullivan. Played on Mass Summer team with some of my BC teammates and other Division 1 athletes.
Q - What was your summer highlight?
A - Summer highlight is that my sister is having a baby this month, Auntie Lex has a nice ring to it.
Q - What are your greatest strengths as an athlete?
A - My athleticism and my confidence in my abilities.
Q - What is a personal goal for the season?
A - To be the best goalie in the ACC.
Q - Did you work on any specific part of your game and did you improve?
A - Decision making and commanding the 18-yard box.
Q - The home opener is on Friday, what is the teams' mindset and yours as you get ready for the game?
A - The team wants to win and to make sure on the day of the NCAA selection show we are watching to find out who is coming to Chestnut Hill to play us in the first round. My mindset is that there are no second chances and I need to play every game like it's my last.
Q - What is your favorite sport to play other than soccer?
A - Basketball (Father Dwayne played hoops at Georgetown)
Q - What other sport would you love to play at BC?
A - Lacrosse (Alexis is best friends with Kenzie Kent on the lacrosse team).
Q - What is your favorite hangout when not at Conte Forum or at the soccer field?
A – Simply - my bed.
Q - Do you have a go-to study spot on campus?
A – The Murray Room – it's across the hall from Learning Resources office in the Yawkey Building.
Q - What would be your dream job?
A – I would love to be involved in animal conversation (raising baby lions or tigers).
Q - What are you career aspirations after college?
A – To work in sport or entertainment management.
Q - This is your final year at BC, what do you look forward to most and what do you hope to accomplish not only as an athlete but a student at the Heights.
A - I look forward to having one more year with my best friends. As an athlete, I hope to lead my team to national championship. As a student and member of the BC community, I want to be a positive influence on those around and serve as a role model.
