Q - You are local - why did you choose Boston College?
A - My family and I are really close, so it meant so much to me to know that they would be able to attend all my games. Boston College also happened to satisfy what I wanted academically as well as on the court since it's in the ACC.
Q - Now that you have been on campus for a month – has anything surprised you and do you have a favorite spot already?
A - Right now, my favorite spot to eat is a Mexican restaurant called Amelias in Cleveland Circle.
Q - For those that don't know much about your game, what kind of player are you and what will you try to bring to the court for the Eagles?
A - On the court, I like to be full of energy so defense is really fun for me. I hope to be a great teammate on the court and bring energy as best as I can.
Q - Is there one player you model your game after?
A - Maya Moore has always been my idol in women's basketball. While growing up I tried to watch her as many games as I could when she was playing.
Q - What WNBA player would you love to play one-on-one against?
A - Maya Moore easily.
Q - Have you set some personal goals for yourself on the court this season?
A - My personal goal this season is to learn as much as I can as a freshman. I know the game is much faster than high school, so I want to adjust as soon as possible.
Q - What are you most looking forward to this season?
A - I looking forward to traveling, playing against hostile loud crowds, winning games, and having fun with my team.
Q - Do you have any pregame rituals?
A - I have to sing, "All the Above" before every game.
Q - Who (or credit a number of people) have an impact on your development as a player and getting the chance to play college ball
A - First and foremost, God has blessed me with this great opportunity. Then it's my family. Both my Mom and Dad for years worked day and night, multiple jobs if needed to make sure I could do anything without worrying. My brothers Marc and Philip, have always been there to motivate me to be my best. To be honest there are a countless number of people including my coaches since eighth grade: Paris Wilkey, Fred Hector, Dave Babb, Jeff Newhall, Alex Gallagher, Ellen Crowley, Jamie Gallagher, Eddie Davis, Lindsay Miller, Jesus Rodriguez, Todd Ducharme, Mandy Carter-Zegarowski, Royce Veal, Ceasar Veal, Shawn Brown, Spencer Braithwaite, Asia Mitchell-Owens, Chantel Jordan, Janet Veal, and more. I wouldn't be in the position I am in now without help from all of them.
Q - Was playing college ball your dream - did you ever not believe in the dream - when did you realize it could be attainable
A - Ever since I started playing basketball competitively, I knew I wanted to play college ball. My parents taught me through their lives that anything is attainable when you work hard enough. I knew as long as I worked hard for it I'd have the chance.
Q - If you did not play basketball, what other sport would you want to play at BC?
A - If I didn't playing basketball, I'd want to play soccer at BC. Soccer was the first sport I played and since I wasn't going to play in college, it was just about having fun.
Q - What kinds of things do you enjoy doing when you are away from basketball?
A - I love spending time with my friends and family. My brother Marc and I like to try new restaurants whenever we have time. And I love to shop.
Q - What parts of your game that you plan on working on this summer?
A - This summer I plan to work on my ball handling, my poise, and my vision of the court.
Q – What have you and your teammates done away from the campus that has been fun
A - We love movie nights. We'll just all cram into one our rooms with blankets and watch scary movies usually. We also enjoy going into downtown Boston to eat or hang out since it's so easy with the Green Line near campus.
Q - What is your major at BC and what would you like to do after graduation?
A - I am in the Carroll School of Management and my major at the moment is entrepreneurship, but that's subject to change as a get a chance to take classes and explore what I like. I hope I can continue playing basketball in some way after I graduate.
