Eagles Place 409 Athletes on ACC Honor Roll

ACC Academic Honor RollÂ
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, recognizing academic excellence by student-athletes during the 2017-18 academic year, was announced by Commissioner John Swofford this afternoon. Boston College was ranked third in the ACC with 409 student-athletes honored by the conference. The Eagles also had 45 four-time honorees.

The ACC Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 4.651 student-athletes for their hard work in the classroom.

Duke had a conference high 493 student-athletes recognized, followed by Notre Dame with 434. BC was next with 409 athletes, while UVA had 404 student-athletes recognized. North Carolina had 391 academic honorees, followed by Louisville with 364 and NC State placed 254 on the list. Virginia Tech had 320 student-athletes on the list, followed by Florida State with 268. Syracuse had 256 student-athletes followed by NC State with 254, then Pittsburgh with 245 followed by Clemson with 218, Miami with 200 and Wake Forest with 193.

Boston College had 45 student-athletes earn ACC Honor Roll status four years, as well as graduate senior Tess Chandler from lacrosse with her fifth ACC Honor Roll recognition.

The women's lacrosse program, which advance to the NCAA Final for the second consecutive year, had 17 players, including Tewaaraton Award winner Sam Apuzzo (three-time) earn ACC Honor Roll status.

Men's Hockey – Hockey East All-Stars Joseph Woll, Michael Kim and Casey Fitzgerald

Tennis – ITA Northeast Senior Player of the Year Asiya Dair
Men's Skiing – NCAA qualifier Carter Robertson
