Carreiro, Kayla Jennings Named 2018 Team Captains

Women's Soccer honors Lily Premo with Inspirational Award
Junior Gaby Carreiro and redshirt-sophomore Kayla Jennings will serve as the team captains for the 2018 Boston College women's soccer team. Head Coach Alison Foley announced the captains at the end of the year banquet on Sunday.

Carreiro is returning this season after missing 2017 with an injury. In 2016, Carreiro led BC in assists with eight. She has played in 37 games with 36 career starts.

Jennings, a transfer from Maryland, is a two-year starter for the Eagles. She started 20 games and had two assists in 2017. In two seasons, Jennings has played in 38 games with 35 starts.

In other team news, midfielder Sam Coffey and Gianna Mitchell were named Co-Rookies of the Year while senior Allyson Swaby earned the Defender of the Year award.

Senior Lauren Berman was named the overall team MVP and Holly Confalone earned the Coaches Award.

A special award was given by the team to Lily Premo. She received the Most Inspirational Award from the women's soccer program. Lily Premo was adopted by the girls on the team last year.

She attends as many women's soccer events as possible and was honored with a National Letter of Intent Day through Team Impact in August, 2017. Holly Confalone, Erin Convery and Gaby Carreiro spearheaded Lily's involvement with the program. Â
