Apuzzo, Miller Sweep ACC Players of the Week Honors

Apuzzo takes offensive honors and Miller grabs the defensive title
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College lacrosse swept the Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week honors, announce Tuesday by the conference. Junior Sam Apuzzo has been tabbed Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Elizabeth Miller garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Apuzzo added 14 points to the Eagles' double-win week. With her nine goals against Navy, Apuzzo broke the BC single game program record for goals. She also added an assist against Navy for 10 points on the game. The attacker also had a strong showing against Binghamton, scoring four goals, including the game winner.

Thanks to her 13 goals on the week, Apuzzo is now at 34 goals in only seven games played, is leading the nation in goals scored by a significant amount, leads the nations in points on the season with 47 and has been a large force behind BC's seven-game win streak. The junior is also third in the nation with 13 assists on the season.

Miller won seven draw controls in the Eagles' 20-14 game over Navy as well as a goal. Miller was a part of the defense that held Binghamton to only two goals on the game – the second time BC has done this on the season.Â

The Eagles (7-0) are back in action as they challenge Southern California tomorrow, March 7, on the road at 6 p.m. ET.
