No. 5 Ohio State Will Visit for NCAA Quarterfinals

Eagles earn No. 4 seed in NCAA Tournament, will host the Buckeyes Saturday afternoon
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's hockey team earned the No. 4 overall seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament and will host the quarterfinal round at Kelley Rink, as announced Sunday night by the NCAA. | Interactive Bracket | Printable Bracket
BC will face fifth-ranked Ohio State at Kelley Rink on Saturday, March 10, at 1 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for students, children, seniors and groups of 10 or more.
The Eagles earned an at-large bid to the tournament and is one of two Hockey East schools selected to the eight-team bracket. Northeastern won the conference's automatic berth after winning the 2018 Hockey East Tournament earlier today.
This marks Boston College's 10th NCAA Tournament berth and its seventh Top 4 seed, which gives the team home ice in the quarterfinal berth. This will be the fourth straight year the Eagles have hosted the quarterfinal round at Kelley Rink.
Saturday's game will be the first-ever meeting between the Eagles and Buckeyes. While BC and OSU have never met, BC is 10-19-2 against fellow WCHA foes, including a 2-0-0 mark this season.
Ohio State is 23-14-5 all-time against Hockey East members, but did not play any in 2017-18.
Boston College was the 2017-18 Hockey East regular-season champion for the fifth-straight season, and enters the NCAA Tournament with a 30-4-3 record. BC won the conference's regular-season league crown with a 19-2-3 record.
Ohio State (23-10-4) also earned an at-large bid to the tournament after finishing second in the WCHA regular-season and advancing to the semifinals of the WCHA's Final Five before falling to eventual champion Minnesota. They posted a 14-6-4 mark in WCHA action.
The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the 2018 Frozen Four, which will be hosted by Minnesota at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, on Friday, March 16 and Sunday, March 18. Saturday's BC-OSU winner will play the winner of the Clarkson-Mercyhurst quarterfinal match-up at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, March 16.
