Burt Honored by Hockey East after NCAA Quarterfinal

Eagles’ goaltender posts 39 saves in loss to No. 6 Ohio State
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior goaltender Katie Burt was recognized as Hockey East's Warrior Co-Player of the Week on Monday after a 39-save performance in the women's hockey team's 2-0 loss to No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday at Kelley Rink.
Burt's 39-save effort marked the second highest save total of her career and pushed her season total to 1,038 – the Boston College single-season record.
Burt wrapped up her stellar four-year career Saturday in which she finished as the Eagles' career goaltending leader in wins (121), save percentage (.937), goals against average (1.47) and shutouts (35), and second in saves (3,180).
She also holds the Hockey East career records in wins (70), GAA (1.39) and shutouts (24), and finished tied for second in save percentage (.938).
Burt's 121 career wins mark the new NCAA record, while she also finished her career ranked among the NCAA career leaders in shutouts (fourth), winning percentage (fifth, .863), goals against average (tied for eighth), save percentage (tied for 12th) and saves (12th).
This was Burt's fifth Hockey East weekly honor of the season and her third Warrior Player of the Week award of the year. Overall, this her 19th weekly award from the league in her career.
Boston College finished the 2017-18 season with a 30-5-3 overall record and won the Hockey East regular-season championship with a 19-2-3 league record.
