Eagles Compete in Indoor ACC Championships

BC travels to Clemson, S.C. for the championship meet
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's track and field team will compete in the 2018 Indoor Track & Field ACC Championships on Thursday, Feb. 21 – Saturday, Feb. 23 in Clemson, S.C. at the Tiger's Indoor Track & Field Complex.

The Virginia Tech men and two-time defending champion Miami emerged as the winners in last year's event at Notre Dame. Boston College finished in 15th place last season.

ACC student-athletes enter this week's Championship holding 29 spots in the nation's top 10 in their respective events – 17 men and 12 women.

During the 2017 Indoor Track & Field ACC Championships, the Eagles had a strong performance in the distance medley relay, as it placed third on the day with a time of 11:16.53. BC is returning junior Paige Duca who placed 11th in the one mile last season at ACCs, crossing the line in 4:49.16. At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 10, Duca ran a 4:37.55 to claim fourth place in the BC record books and her time put her in 11th place on the indoor NCAA list for the mile this season.

BC also returns junior Elizabeth Knoll who tied for sixth place in the high jump at ACCs last season.

The Eagles ACC squad this season features 19 student-athletes. Eleven of the women competing are upperclassmen and there are five freshmen who will be competing in the championship meet for the first time.
