While BC swept the teams' three-game regular-season Hockey East series, the combined margin of victory was just four goals. The following day on Jan. 20, BC edged UVM, 2-1, behind a two-goal, third-period rally.
This will be the teams' first-ever meeting in the Hockey East Quarterfinals, but the third postseason meeting overall. BC is 2-0-0 against UVM in playoff action, including a 4-3 overtime win in the 2017 Hockey East semifinals.
