Woll Named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior goaltender Joseph Woll was named the Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday along with Jeremy Swayman of Maine.
Woll allowed one goal all weekend against rival Boston University in the Battle of Comm Ave, stopping 64 of the 65 shots he faced for a .985 save percentage. The junior made a season-high 38 saves on Friday in a 4-1 win at Agganis Arena, followed by a 26-save shutout on Saturday during the first scoreless tie in the history of the rivalry.
Woll leads Hockey East during conference play with a 1.14 goals against average and a .963 save percentage, pacing Boston College to a 4-1-2 league record. Since the start of November, he ranks seventh in the nation turning aside 95.2% of opposing shots.
The Eagles took three of four points from BU this past weekend and close the first half this week with a pair of Hockey East games against UConn. The home-and-home begins on Thursday night at the XL Center in Hartford and concludes Friday back at Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill.
