BC has four individual podium finishes in addition to a relay
BOSTON – The Boston College women's track and field team opened its indoor season on Saturday, competing in the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. The Eagles had four individual podium performances as well as one of the 4x400 meter relay quartets taking third.

- Senior captain Gianna Bender led things off with a personal record in the 800, running a 2:10.94 to place second overall while Katherine Mitchell took third in 2:14.21.
- The 600 saw Anna Harmon run a 1:36.91 in the final to earn fourth place.
- In the 400-meter dash, Monica Heil used a 57.81 to place second. Emma Kinney came home in 59.14 for sixth, Sarah Heckel ran 59.39 to share seventh and Sierra Tonnesen ran 1:00.40 for 12th.
- A big BC contingent competed in the 3,000. Delia Hayes led the way for the Eagles (seventh, 9:52.93) while Kylee Raftis (ninth, 9:58.14). Jillian Skerry (10th, 9:58.27), Lauren White (11th, 9:59.53), Colleen Sliney (12th, 10:03.37) and Caroline Barry (14th, 10:07.14) finished in the top 15.
- In the high jump, Abigail Gothers cleared 5'3" and Jessica Creedon cleared 5'5", with both of those heights beating their bests from the 2018 outdoor season. Creedon finished seventh and Gothers placed 11th.
- Julia Lyons' 18'11.25" leap in the long jump earned her the top spot on the podium and the program's sixth-best mark indoors. Lyons also finished 17th in the 200-meter dash (26.45).
- The 4x400 meter relay squad of Emma Taylor, Creedon, Heil and Gothers used a 3:56.42 to finish third.
- Boston College will compete next weekend at the Husky Invitational.
