Eagles Finish Ninth at NCAA Regional

Eagles place all five scored runners in top-100
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Boston College women's cross country team closed out the season with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional with 271 points on Friday morning at the Audubon Golf Course.

BC placed two runners in the top-50 and all five scored runners finished within the top-100. Senior Paige Duca led the Eagles across the line with her time of 22:47.1, placing 43rd out of the 235 runners. Fellow senior Delia Hayes was close behind, placing 45th in a time of 22:48.0 while freshman Fian Sullivan Sweeney's time of 22:57.6 put her in 51st place.

Syracuse senior Shannon Malone won the women's individual title with her time of 21:28.7 while Columbia took the team title with 41 points. Columbia and second-place Dartmouth each receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship on Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis.

- The Eagles improved five spots from 2017 where the Eagles placed 14th with 413 points. This year, BC placed two runners in the top-50 and all five scored runners finished within the top-100.
- Paige Duca finished first for the Eagles for the second-straight season at the Regional, coming in 43rd with a time of 22:47.1.
- Delia Hayes' time of 22:48.0 put her just after Duca in 45th, a 25-place improvement from her finish a year ago (70th in 23:06.7).
- Fian Sullivan Sweeney finished 51st with a time of 22:57.6 while freshman Nicole Clermont's time of 22:59.4 put her in 53rd place. Sophomore Lauren White rounded out the scored runners in 81st place with a time of 23:26.2.
- Freshman Anna Oeser came in 98th at 23:39.3 while sophomore Kylee Raftis closed out the race for BC at 118th with her time of 23:53.6.
