The Nation's Most Dynamic Guard is one of 50 recognized by Atlanta Tipoff Club
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Ky Bowman was named to the watchlist for the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy Men's Player of the Year award, it was announced today.
Bowman - the Nation's Most Dynamic Guard - is one of 50 players nationally named to the watchlist by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. The ACC leads the way, with 10 players represented on the list. Â
It marks the second major national watchlist for Bowman. In October, he was named one of 20 players vying for the 2019 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award.
He is the first Boston College player since Olivier Hanlan in 2014 to be named to both the Naismith Trophy and Cousy Award watchlists.
Last season, Bowman was the only player in the country to average at least 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. The Havelock, N.C. native was the only player in the ACC to rank among the top 11 in the league in scoring, rebounding, and assists. He earned honorable mention All-ACC and second team All-ACC Tournament honors as a sophomore.
Bowman and his Boston College teammates tipoff the 2018-19 season on Tuesday night at home, as they host Milwaukee at 7 p.m. at Conte Forum.
