
Meet the Birdball Class of 2022

BC baseball welcomes 11 freshman for 2019 season.
After recently completing the first fall ball season at the Harrington Athletics Village, Boston College head baseball coach Mike Gambino officially announced the addition of 11 freshmen for the 2018-19 academic year. The Eagles brought in six pitchers and five position players for the upcoming season. BC's latest class of recruits is made up of a national footprint stretching from Massachusetts to California.

"As a group, we're excited about this class," said Gambino. "Now that they've been on campus, they believe so much in who we are as a university; the things we talk about in our culture and in our program. They are really obsessed with working, getting better and being great kids and teammates."
#18 Peter Burns, C

Bio: Played at Austin Prep and hit .401 over his career with 115 hits and 89 RBI... two-time Boston Herald and Boston Globe All-Scholastic pick... Rawlings/Perfect Game All-New England First Team and All-America Honorable Mention as a senior... named Catholic Central League All-Star all four seasons and league MVP in 2017 and 2018... part of 2018 Division 3 State Championship... featured in Sports Illustrated "Faces In the Crowd" on Aug. 24, 2015 after throwing out 10 runners and hitting .467 for the New England Stampede at the Perfect Game 15-U wood bat nationals... played two seasons for Northeast Baseball (2016-17) and four years with the Stampede (2012-15)... played varsity hockey as a freshman and sophomore, while helping team to league championships.
