Emma Guy Nets 15 In Win Over Loyola, 73-47

BC to play Rider in the final of the Hawk Classic at noon on Sunday
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Junior Emma Guy scored a team-high 15 points with nine rebounds to lead Boston College to a, 73-47, victory over Loyola of Maryland in the first round of the 25th Annual Hawk Classic hosted by St. Joseph's University on Saturday in Hagan Arena.

Boston College is now 5-0 and will play in the final against Rider at noon on Sunday. Rider defeated host St. Joe's, 56-54, in the opening game. Loyola is now 0-4 on the season and will play St. Joe's at 2 p.m. tomorrow.

Junior Georgia Pineau pitched in with 12 points, five rebounds and a team-high six assists, while freshman Marnelle Garraud had 10 points with six board. Freshman guard Makayla Dickens tallied 10 points with five assists.
The game turned at the half when Milan Bolden-Morris hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Eagles a 31-24 lead going into the locker room. BC opened the second half on an 8-2 run topped by a three-pointer by Sydney Lowery in the corner to force Loyola into calling a timeout.

BC held Loyola scoreless until the 4:23 mark when Bir Betz-White hit one foul shot and the lead was, 43-27. Two straight three's from Loyola's Alexis Gray cut into the Eagles lead but a high-low from Pineau to Guy followed by a three-pointer from Taylor Ortlepp gave BC a, 52-33, lead at the end of three quarters.

After holding Loyola to just nine points in the third quarter, the Eagles continued the pressure on the Greyhounds. While BC shot 64.3 percent from the floor, Loyola scored 14 points and shot just 30 percent from the field.
