
Trip to Holy Cross on Deck for No. 4 BC on Saturday

Eagles, Crusaders meet for the second time this season.
Boston College (11-3-0, 8-1-0 HEA) enter Saturday's game 4-1-0 in the last five games and 9-1-0 in the last 10 after topping Boston University, 4-3, on Tuesday at Kelley Rink. Four players scored in the win over the cross-town rival, with Ryan Little and Maegan Beres tallying their firsts of the year and Lindsay Agnew and Kelly Browne also finding the back of the net. Megan Keller now leads the Eagles in scoring with 16 points on six goals and 10 assists while five other players have notched at least 11 points. Maddy McArthur has four shutouts, a 1.00 goals against average and a .950 save percentage in her last 10 games.
Holy Cross (0-13-2, 0-9-0 HEA) is still in search of its first win of the season coming into Saturday's game. The Crusaders also played on Tuesday night, falling at Harvard by a score of 7-3. Freshman Carlie Magier scored twice in the game and now has a team-high four goals on the year. Amanda Kewer (2-2-4) is tied with her for the team lead in points. This is the first season in Hockey East and as a full-time Division I program for the Crusaders. The team went 16-9-3 last season while a member of the NEWHA.
The squads met for the first time ever back on Oct. 26, with the Eagles skating to a 5-1 win at the Hart Center.
After playing at Holy Cross on Saturday, BC will next play on Tuesday night against Northeastern. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at Matthews Arena.

DEFENSE CHIPPIN' IN
• In addition to help Boston College sit tied for second in the country in goals against per game (1.36), the Eagles' defensive corps is first in the nation in points (41) and second in points per game (2.93).
• The Eagles have three players in Megan Keller, Cayla Barnes and Grace Bizal that sit in the top 15 in defensemen scoring, the most of any team ... Keller (6-10-16) leads all blue liners in points while Barnes (2-9-11) is tied for fifth and Bizal (2-7-9) is tied for 12th.
• Barnes is the only rookie blue liner to crack the top 10 in points.
• BC defensemen have scored 11 goals, tied for first in the country, and a nation-leading seven have come on the power play.
• The BC defense has chipped in on 26% of the squad's goals (11/43), 40% of the assists (30/76) and 34% of the overall points (41/119).
IT'S WORTH NOTING
• BC started Hockey East play 5-0-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season ... the team finished league play a perfect 24-0-0 that year.
• Freshman Kelly Browne is second amongst Hockey East rookies in faceoff wins with 112 and eighth overall in the league.
• Daryl Watts is averaging 4.93 shots on goal per game, which is fourth overall in Hockey East.
• Cayla Barnes leads BC with 20 blocks, tied for fifth in the conference.
• The Eagles are 9-0-0 this season when Barnes notches at least one point ... BC is also 9-0-0 when Caitirn Lonergan tallies at least one point and 8-0-0 when Lindsay Agnew does.
