No. 5 Eagles Host UConn Thursday Night

The Huskies took the last meeting between the squads in the 2018 Hockey East Tournament semifinals.

Boston College (7-2-0, 4-0-0 HEA) is coming off a two-win conference road weekend. On Friday night, the Eagles topped Holy Cross, 5-1, in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. BC trekked north to Maine on Sunday and came away with a 4-1 win over the Black Bears. The Eagles displayed balanced scoring over the two wins, with all nine goals coming from a different player. Megan Keller (3-7-10) and Caitrin Lonergan (4-6-10) are tied for the team lead in scoring thus far.

UConn (5-3-1, 2-2-1 HEA) beat Union, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon on the strength of a Savannah Bouzide hat trick. The Huskies started the season with three straight wins and have gone 2-2-1 in the last five contests. Natalie Snodgrass has a team-leading 11 points on two goals and nine assists, with four of her helpers coming on the power play.
Boston College will travel to Providence on Saturday, Nov. 3 for another Hockey East road test.

• The Eagles come into Thursday's contest with a seven-game unbeaten streak after topping Maine, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Alfond Arena … that win came on the heels of a 5-1 win at Holy Cross on Friday night.
• All nine of the Eagles' goals over those two games came off the stick of a different player.
• BC started the season at No. 9 Minnesota Duluth, falling in both games, before returning home and topping Syracuse and St. Lawrence before starting Hockey East play.

ABOUT CONNECTICUT
• UConn, which started the season with three straight wins and is 2-2-1 in the last five contests, is coming off a 7-0 win at Union on Oct. 27.
• Savannah Bouzide recorded a hat-trick in the non-conference win that saw the Huskies score five goals in the first frame.
• Fifteen different Huskies have registered at least one point while 13 of them have scored at least one goal.
• Natalie Snodgrass has a team-leading 11 points on two goals and nine assists ... four of her helpers have come on the power-play.
• Morgan Wabick leads UConn with six goals, five of which have come on the power-play.
• Morgan Fisher has gone 4-2-1 in seven starts, posting a 1.85 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.

•BC has started Hockey East play 4-0-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season ... the team finished league play a perfect 24-0-0 that year.
• Freshman Kelly Browne is second amongst Hockey East rookies in faceoff wins with 75 and tied for fifth overall.
• Daryl Watts is averaging 4.78 shots on goal per game, which is fourth overall in Hockey East.
• Cayla Barnes leads BC with 16 blocks, which also ties her for fourth in the conference.
• Five different players have scored game-winning goals for the Eagles, which ties with Northeastern for the most in Hockey East.
• The Eagles have 13 players with at least one point and eleven players have scored at least one goal.Â
STINGY DEFENSE
• Boston College has limited opponents to one goal or less in each of the last seven games.
• It's tied for the longest streak in the NCAA since the start of the 2017-18 season, matching Cornell's from last season.
• It ties for the longest stretch in program history for the Eagles, matching one during the 2015-16 season.
• On a seven-game streak from Oct. 17, 2015 to Nov. 7, 2015, BC limited opponents to just two goals total (putting up five shutouts and allowing just one goal each in the other two contests).
HOME SWEET HOME
• Boston College reeled off five straight wins during its five-game homestand Oct. 6-20.
