
Naumec, Naughton Named Eagles of the Week

Naumec takes 10th at Autotrader Collegiate, Naughton records double-doubles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's golf senior Matt Naumec and volleyball sophomore Clare Naughton have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week following their performances last week.

Naumec tied for 10th place overall at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic. It was his third consecutive top 10 finish of the fall season. Naumec posted consecutive rounds of 69 during the first and second rounds on the first day of competition. He played bogey-free golf through his first 13 holes of the first round, posting four birdies and 13 pars. His second round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 15th hole. Naumec closed with a 1-under score of 71 on Tuesday, finishing the back nine in a 33 (-3). He played the par-4 holes at 4-under (3.87 average) and the par 5 holes at 7-under (4.42 average).

Naughton recorded back-to-back double-doubles in BC's matches against NC State and North Carolina. She shared the team lead with 24 kills on the weekend, averaging 3.43 kills per set and added three aces. Naughton tallied 13 kills and 10 digs in BC's sweep of North Carolina, the program's first-ever win over the Tar Heels. She committed just one error on 23 attempts, hit .522 percent and added a match-high two service aces in the victory. In BC's 3-1 loss to NC State, she recorded 11 kills, tied for the team lead, and 15 digs.
