No. 5 North Carolina Comes to Newton on Senior Day

This marks the Eagles' third consecutive contest against a ranked opponent.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team will host No. 5 North Carolina on Friday night at the Newton Campus Soccer Fields. The Eagles will recognize seven seniors in a pregame ceremony before the 7 p.m. kickoff.

Boston College (4-5-3, 2-4-0 ACC) goes into Friday's game looking to break a two-game skid after losses at then No. 2 Wake Forest on Oct. 5 (1-0) and at No. 20 UConn on Oct. 16 (3-2). This is the third consecutive contest against a ranked opponent for the Eagles and seventh in the last eight overall.

North Carolina (10-2-1, 4-1-0 ACC) is coming off a 4-0 win over Winthrop on Oct. 16, ending a two-game winless streak of its own. The ACC preseason favorites have three players in double-digit points, including Giovanni Montesdeoca's team-high 15 on six goals and three assists. The Tar Heels are undefeated this season when scoring at least one goal.

After this final regular season home game, Boston College will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 23, traveling to the University of Rhode Island for the final non-conference game of the year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

• Against Harvard on Oct. 9, Enstrom's second minute goal stood to be the game-winner.Â

• With his two save performance against Harvard on Oct. 9, Antonio Chavez Borrelli earned his second consecutive shutout.
• On Oct. 5 against then No. 17 NC State, the sophomore wasn't tasked with making a save but was crucial nonetheless on corners in preserving the clean sheet.
• Chavez Borrelli's shutout streak – and the team's – lasted 222:59, the longest for the Eagles since back-to-back shutouts on Aug. 25, 2017 (Quinnipiac) and Aug. 27, 2017 (Boston University) and a loss against UNH on Sept. 1, 2017 that lasted 209:10.
• While Chavez Borrelli was a part of the back-to-back shutouts last year, this year was the first time he played a full 90 minutes to earn both individual shutouts.
• He is the first BC goalkeeper to record back-to-back individual shutouts since Alex Kapp did it on Sept. 4, 2014 (Quinnipiac) and Sept. 7, 2014 (Rhode Island).
