Q: Being one of seven freshmen this year, what has been the biggest adjustment for the group?
Â
A: One of the biggest adjustments has probably been having to grow up as a player and person on and off the court. My responsibilities are greater than ever and for the team to succeed it's important for me to do my part.
Â
Q – How important do you think the work outs as well as attending classes over the summer helped you?
Â
A: The summer overall was helpful. It was like feeling out the water before being pushed right in. I was able to learn how to navigate things like the Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS), food around campus and campus as a whole.
Â
Q: Why did you choose Boston College?
Â
A: I chose Boston College because it's the best of both worlds. I knew coming in I would be getting a top education, while also being able to be a part of a program that is truly on the rise. I wanted to be a part of something great.
Â
Q: Being local, how has that helped you in your transition to BC? And was it important for you to choose a college close to home?
Â
A: Going to school close to home helped with my transition to BC, because if I ever was home sick, it was only a short two-and-a-half-hour drive away. I also have a lot of school friends in the area. It was nice being able to see familiar faces every once in a while.
Â
Q: What type of style do you play and what will you try to bring to the team?
Â
A: My playing style is very drive oriented. This year I hope I can bring a level of intensity to the team and use my speed to hopefully get quick easy buckets.
Â
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment going from high school basketball to college?
Â
A: Â The biggest adjustment would probably be the amount of mental toughness you need to succeed. Whether it be in the weight room or on the court in a two hour practice you have to be mentally there and focused.
Â
Q: What WNBA player would you love to play one-on-one against and why?
Â
A: I'd love to play against Skylar Diggins. I grew up watching her play and it would be a cool experience.
Â
Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
Â
A: I'm most looking forward to surprises a bunch of people. I know there are people out there that think we're the same BC as in the past or with seven freshmen winning may be hard, but that just fuels us to be better every day.
Â
Q: Do you have pregame rituals?
Â
A: I just make sure to have some time to listen to music to get my head right.
Â
Q: If you didn't play basketball, what other sport would you play at BC?
Â
A: If I wasn't playing basketball, I would probably be playing soccer.
Â
Q: Who introduced you to the game of basketball and when did you know you wanted to play at this level?
Â
A: For as long as I can remember I've been playing basketball. I think I was around four when my parents signed me up for little kid camps. I didn't seriously play basketball until the summer going into sophomore year.Â
Â
Q: What do you do away from the court?
Â
A: Currently, away from the court my time is occupied with homework or eating between classes. In high school - away from basketball I would hang out with friends.Â
Â
Q: What was the highlight of your summer?
Â
A: The highlight of my summer was about two weeks in, my best friends came to visit which was awesome. I hadn't seen them in a while so it was super special.
Â
Q: Have you found a favorite hangout spot on campus or favorite place to eat?
Â
A: My go to hangout spot on campus is probably the locker room. It's the perfect place to take a nap and do some homework.
