The Eagles participated in three contests, raking in fourth, fifth, and sixth place finishes.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College women's sailing team placed sixth in the St. Mary's Showcase over the Sept. 29-30 weekend. The sixth-place finish team was secured by 47 points for a second-place finish in the A Division and 84 point, 10th place in the B division for a total of 131 points. The A Division race was skippered by seniors Isabella Loosbrock and Emma Perry while the B division led by Emma Batcher and Elizabeth Russell.
At the Interconference Regatta for the Danmark Trophy, Sophia Reineke and Tara Ferraris secured an 11th-place, 47 point finish in the A division. Thomas Walden and Caroline Downey placed fifth in the B Division with a 46 point finish, tied with Yale. The two division finishes gave the Eagles an overall fourth-place finish.
For the George Warren Smith Trophy, the Eagles came in as a team in fifth place. This came on the strength of a sixth-place, 97 point A Division finish from Colin Brego, Scott Rasmussen, Mikayla Mathieu and Katharine Bowman and a third-place, 78 point finish in the B Division by the team of Robert Hunter, Laura Ferraris and Caroline Rochford.
The Eagles are set to compete next in the Sister Esther Open, hosted by Salve Regina on October 6.
